I was born in Columbus, Ohio on the campus of the Ohio State University.  When I was three, my family moved to Baltimore, Maryland where I lived until 1986 when I came to California for college at Stanford. And to answer the question that I am sure is on many people’s minds; I know this will come as a shock, but, I haven’t see The Wire.  It’s on my to do list and one day I will watch it.  After graduation, my college roommate, Ira, and I founded Jefunira Camp.  This summer will be our 30-year anniversary.  Since the age of four camp, has been a part of my summers.  First as a camper, then a CIT, counselor, camp directors and for the last 30 years as a camp owner/director.  For three years, 2014 to 2017, my family and I lived in Bali, Indonesia.  We returned to the State each year to run Jefunira Camp.  And during the offseason, while in Bali, I had the opportunity to visit and consult with many camps and experiential education program in Asian and SE Asia.  Sharing with them what I have learned from my years in the camp world and in turn learning from each program that I visited.
